Tar Instructor

Pajand ROGHANCHI started playing Setar from the age of 7 with Farid Mozaffarzadeh. After one year, he was captivated by the beauty and strength of the instrument Taar, one of the main, substantial and moving Iranian tonalities, and he decided to pursue mastery of this instrument. After completing a course of RADIF he moved in Arshad-Tahmasbi’s class and finished many ‘Zarbi-Ha’ and ‘Javab-Avaz’ in Taar.
Pajand became a follower of Hossein Alizadeh and completed a master course of his methodology and pedagogy. He worked with many peers and music bands in Iran and pursued the Taar professionally. He was admitted to a school led by Houshang Zarif and there he completed a master course with him; he also had the opportunity to learn Rhythm with Jamshid Esmaelie.
After a very strong divert in the taste and school of Saaz va Avas Esfahan, he was referred to Shahram MirJalali and Ramin Eslah by Zarif and started following ‘Maktab e Esfahan’.
At the age of 17 Pajand was chosen as the best performer in his age group in ‘Best Improvisers Festival’ in Tehran. He worked with Iranian National Orchestra and many other professional musicians. After 13 years he is still a follower of ‘Maktab e Esfahan’ and his instruction is based upon this valuable accent and method.
Pajand has a sociology and anthropology backgroud and is currently finishing his thesis in Entrepreneurship with Latrobe University.
