Elnaz Sheshgelani

Creative Puppet Making, Collage and Painting



Elnaz Sheshgelani was born in Tehran, Iran in 1979. She has worked as a puppeteer, designer, Illustrator, singer, Interpreter and actor in an extremely distinguished career.
 
She has an honors degree in puppet theatre from the Tehran University of Fine Art, and has trained with Peter Schumann, the founder of the famed Bread and Puppet theatre in New York. She is also an accomplished Illustrator, illustrating a number of childrens books as well as being commissioned to Illustrate a collection of works of the influential Iranian poet Farough Farakhzand.

Working in both television and on stage in her native Iran, she has built an impressive body of work in her native Iran prior to immigrating to Australia

Since arriving in Australia 2007 , she has been busy working as an illustrator, having a number of her works dispayed at various café galleries around Melbourne. A number of her designs have been used on t-shirts, websites and on promotional material for a number of organizations.

She has performed in previous productions at La Mama theatre and is quickly becoming a regular of the theatre.
 
She is currently working on illustrating a childrens book and appearing at La Mama.
